Nestled between two hills, Fourvière and La Croix-Rousse, and two rivers, the Rhône and the Saône, Lyon, “the city of light”, is France’s second largest city. Known for its gastronomic cooking, silk, printing and murals, it also has the privilege of being listed as a UNESCO World heritage site. Lyon has pretty mild weather all year round, but late summer is the perfect time to sit out at pavement cafés and soak up the last of the season’s sunshine.
